Rake-N-Run
A couple Saturday's ago the whole family got to enjoy a early morning with our church youth group. We traveled around to about 10 different yards and raked up leaves quickly and then moved on to the next yards. The kids LOVED this. I borrowed my parents small rakes for the girls so they were able to participate without difficulty. What a fun way to show God's love to others. Opportunities like this are also great examples for teaching our children. Taking the time to explain how we can help others out. How to sacrifice our time to give to others. We live in a world where we want to think life revolves around ourself. As Christians though, we live ina world to show others Christ through our actions. Our faith and desire for our Savior brings out different fruits of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control..."
With having the Spirit dwell inside of us these fruits will blossom in are daily lives. I believe our faith in Christ will be evident in our actions not out of guilt, but out of knowing how sovereign our God is. What a peace we have in Jesus. Dennis and I love showing and sharing with our children the powerful, almighty, true God He is.
What seemed as a small opportunity last saturday to help others, proved to be a big opportunity in God's desire for us to show our children His love.
