Embrace

It saddened my heart the other day seeing a boy who looked to be in Kindergarten getting off the bus. What looked like his dad was waiting for him, but what saddened me was the way they greeted each other. That was it...there wasn't a greeting. No hugs. No kisses. Not even words moving from their lips. I've seen this before and my heart aches.

Children are such a gift. I see a kid like that and my mind wonders to their teenage years or young adult years. The chances for them loving in a healthy way have now been decreased if they don't get that healthy love while growing up.

I encourage parents to embrase their children. Tell them you love them all the time. Show them you love them by training and teaching them when they are young. When they are an adult your love for each other will be solid. If you have children that are grown up already and you didn't verbalize your love much it's never to late to start. Hearing and seeing love are two different things. We all are in need of both.
