Sunrise Sunday: Resurrection Sunday!!!

Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for

an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away

the stone and sat upon it.

And

his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "

Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.

"He is not here, for He has risen,

just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you

into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."

And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.

And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.

Then Jesus said to them, "

Do not be afraid; go and take word to

My brethren to leave

for Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Matthew 28:1-10

Resurrection Sunday has such a powerful meaning! My Savior not only was crucified but He arose from the grave three days later.

While attending our church's Good Friday service scripture was read about the crucifixion. What stood out to me the most was Matthew 27:40-42

and saying, "

You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself!

If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying,

"

He saved others; He cannot save Himself

He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him."

What is so incredibly amazing is that our Savior could have saved Himself off the cross. But what's even more amazing is that He died and then came back alive. This to me is so powerful.

How hard is it when you know what an outcome will be but no one else does? Have you had to keep in something so amazing while being thrown hurt? This is my Lord!!! My Sovereign Savior who died on the cross for my sins. I am beyond words in how to describe His omnipotent glory.

Today, is not Easter. Today is Resurrection Sunday! The day my Lord Jesus Christ rose from the grave after laying His life down for me. Took on all my sins! Forgave me! Justified me!

This is who I serve, He is my Savior! who is yours?
