God causes ALL!

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:18

I won't go into any major deep thinking for this blog post regarding the title, but I know that my God causes ALL.

This past weekend my family enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Sunriver. We biked, shopped, watched a movie, played games, I crochet my first hat and am attempting a second. Everyone enjoyed the hot tube. Just a fun weekend away to enjoy fellowship and God's blessings that allowed us all to be together.

Monday evening I received a txt from one of the gals house sitting for us saying she was doing dishes when suddenly the water stopped working. Dennis was heading home that night because he had a meeting at his office the next day. Sure enough we find out that the water pump has died on us. The following day myself and the kids along with rest of my family travel home, but instead of the kids and I getting to go home we grab more clothes and head over to my parents to camp out till the pump gets fixed.

Brooklyn before going to sleep said with a sad tone that she really missed home. She missed our goats, the hamster and our fish. I told her I missed it as well. I told her that during times like these that looking at the inconvience and negatives of the situation aren't glorifing to God. Taking this opportunity to set an example for our children are glorifing God.

We may not see a reason for something even like just a water pump for why God would cause that to go out, but I know God causes ALL! Dennis and I can look at is as a teaching tool for our children. They can see how we respond during inconvient times. Are our actions glorifing God? I thank God that it happened now and not when the baby is born. Things were pretty much already packed up from our vacation, so it's not like I had to go in and re-pack. The house was clean from us leaving so I'm not stressed thinking I have all this stuff I need to do.

Again, this seems small compared to other events that have happened in our lives, but God talks about how we are suppose to act. For me keeping my heart and mind on scripture has made a huge difference in many ways I look at life, or react in situations. Next time you feel God has thrown you a curve ball don't let life strike you out. Keep your eyes focused and watch God give you a home run.

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Colossians 3:17
