Homeschool Wall
I have finally finished my homeschool wall!!! Or at least 95% of it for now. The full front picture truly does not do justice. I still would like to make 4 tablets with each having a side of chalkboard paint and a side of dry eraser paint which they will hang from the bottom. Also, planning on hanging mason jars on the bottom to hold our chalk. Projects however, take me a long time to usually complete. I just know that it was a glorious day when we got this hung, because for about a month Dennis was so kind allowing the wood to sit in a pile in our kitchen. :)
When we aren't doing CC I can remove my CC weekly memory info and hang up the kids art work. Each week we change out the timeline cards and we will continue to do this. Lots of great information in the timeline. The kids also love having a calendar. They mark each day off and they are really understanding the days of the weeks better.
I also have a place where I can put daily or weekly assignments up for the kids or just things we are working on for that week.
I painted the whole board with chalkboard paint, but the bigger section I also added in magnetic paint to help with our spelling tiles. I love them being up higher since when Beckham was little he would shove them behind the magnetic board I had screwed to the wall. I would have to unscrew the board in order for them to fall down so I could retrieve them. Brinley wasn't given a chance to do that, but now I don't have to worry about little fingers moving around the spelling tiles.
Already this board has come in handy when just trying to explain things to the kids. Its centrally located in our house! The kitchen!!! :) It's been a fun project to work on. Perfect fit for our home, and future barn house!
