Forty-Twoyears old......This is the age I met "Uncle" Dick. This hit me last night that for almost all my life I knew him, but not even half he knew me. What's amazing though.....is we were incredible friends.   It's weird to think that I'm not even at the age he was when we first met. I love knowing that at any age God can bring people together as friends through Christ and bond them for eternity.

Today, we went out for a birthday celebration, however, the birthday boy wasn't present. Like my mom has said, "I pray that my head knowledge eventually helps heal my heart!" We all know he is worshiping and in the presence of His Creator. He is seeing our Saviour face to face whom He lived for. Now that is what I call an amazing birthday present. I also pray that what I know in my head from God's Word helps heal my heart. I will never go without missing him, or tearing up, or wishing he was coming over for our Christmas eve tradition, and the list goes on. Although, I remind myself that all the sorrow we experience is nothing compared to God sending His only Son to earth to die for my sins and make a way for me to spend eternity in heaven. 

Happy Birthday Uncle Dick!!!!! I couldn't have given you a better present then what God gave you. Love you lots! God gave us you to strengthen our growth with Him and now God is having me stretch my wings and fly.
