BiH day 8
"Always must relate to God for who He is,
NOT who we hope Him to be!"
Matt Chandler "The Explicit Gospel"
On the flight over I began listening to an audio from Matt Chandler's book, "The Explicit Gospel." He says the above quote and I LOVED it. That is exactly what born again believers need to be focusing on and not reading scripture they way they are hoping it is saying.
As a team here in Bosnia we are also going through, "A Gospel Primer" by Milton Vincent. He too is explaining how understanding the meaning of the cross and how we are fully secure in our Saviour gives us such "Freedom." Feeling in a way that "Works" saves, or needing God's "favor." Feeling we need God's forgiveness when God already has forgiven our past, present and future sins. Having this liberating feeling however drives us to live our lives for God. It pushes us when seeing the magnitude of the cross to want to Glorify Him in ALL. This doesn't mean we are perfect and will never do wrong again, but knowing that God takes us through things ALL for His glory and to bring us closer to Him.
Bosnia has been an amazing place to be able to travel too with Dennis. As a couple we are experiencing so much not only physically but spiritually to bring back to our kids, family, friends and our community. So much history here that just puts pieces together for the future arrival of our Lord. This camp is truly a "Valley of Blessings!"
"...His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence."
