How Important is your Marriage?
How important is your marriage? Could you allow your spouse inside your mind? Do you have courage to share all your thoughts? What's on your heart? Would you be ashamed and therefor close off parts of your communication?
These are all questions Dennis and I feel are so important to answer. Shortly after we were married I felt that we opened up. Truly just shared what was on our hearts. What's amazing is almost 10 years later we have dug even deeper into becoming one mind, one soul and one body!
Dennis and I are growing deeper and deeper as one flesh. We are letting each other in our minds. We are consuming each other with our thoughts. We are allowing each other to see our hearts, see our passion for our Savior, and see how God's word about marriage is so true.
I challenge young and old couples to truly share your heart with your spouse. Share EVERYTHING!!!! don't be ashamed. Some spouses may not be ready to open completely so start with prayer. Prayer is such an intimate thing. I love how God drew Dennis and I together from the beginning. We all have different stories and God uses everyone in different ways. I love my story. I love seeing my husband be a leader for our Savior. I love that he can see me weak and helps pick me up. I love that we are so spiritually, physically and sexually one. Our time on earth is so short and I pray that Dennis and I show how important our God is in all that we say and do. I want our children to see the true love we have for each other is from God. To see that true, pure desire. To see our imperfection but see God work through them and some day make us whole! This is our Savior. Our God whom created us! We don't deserve His love but He first loved us, and this makes me smile! :)
"1 Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” 2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 I say this as a concession, not as a command. 7 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that." 1 Corinthians 7: 1-7
