2013 was a year full of joy, heartache, love, tears, and growth. I could go on but I feel these are a few of my top ones. Ultimately, I have felt a tremendous amount of growth. God has been revealing Himself so much more in our lives and how to 100% completely rely on Him. To know He holds my life in His hands. To know that He created my mind, and the functions that take place inside my brain just blows my thoughts. I always can't comprehend the why's to life and many I never will here on earth, but to know my soul belongs to a Creator that never was created helps in the times when the questions "why?, How? etc" come to mind. To have faith in what His truths say and not what I want them to say.
2013 both Dennis and I turned 30! We experienced a major loss in our family. One that is so hard to wrap my mind around and understand. Again, only through God and my family have I felt peace and reassurance. We experienced traveling to another country to help others, and as a couple what a powerful experience. We prayed to God about having a fifth and well....our little lady is due in 10 weeks! Our children are growing in the knowledge of our Saviour something that brings us such joy in seeing them see why we live for God alone!!!
Our 2013 may have not been easy, but I know we both feel so blessed. During heartache and joy we have only drawn closer to our Saviour.
Our lives are in God's hands. He created and formed our beginning and He has created and formed our end. One of my favorite hyms is "It is Well with my Soul" Horatio Spafford wrote this song after a downhill spiral of events that one could look at and think, "Why continue to live your life for God?" What an amazing testimony of having our Saviour be your strength. Reminds me a lot of the story of Job! I pray 2014 brings our hearts and eyes closer to God each and every day. Through the Good, and through the tough! He is our ROCK!!!!! and our SAVIOUR!!!!!!
